Barbara K. Sullivan-Watts, M.S, Environmental Engineering, Ph.D. Biological Oceanography, Senior Marine Research Scientist, Emerita at the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island. Barbara studied zooplankton ecology of both Narragansett Bay and the Georges Bank fishing ground since 1980, providing her with a 43 year scientific perspective on the changing climate and its impacts on the marine ecosystems of the Northeast coast. Though retired Barbara still counts a sample from Narragansett Bay once a week to keep up the Narragansett Bay Weekly Time Weekly Series. Nicole DiPaolo Director of Energy Justice, Roots 2Empower. With over a decade of experience working on social justice issues Nicole began to specialize in offshore wind in 2019 when she joined the National Wildlife Federation. Later working for the BlueGreen Alliance, a national coalition of the largest environmental nonprofits and labor unions, Nicole’s work in this area has centered on applying an energy justice lens and ensuring marginalized communities and workers are at the forefront of the clean energy transition.
