"Larchmont Remembered" with Dan Harrington

"Larchmont Remembered" with Dan Harrington In-Person

All aboard! Join Providence Journal columnist Dan Harrington for this true story of the long-forgotten sinking of the steamship Larchmont off Watch Hill, RI in February 1907. Amidst gale-force winds and 20-foot waves, the Larchmont collided with the schooner Harry Knowlton three miles off shore. Passengers and crew had little chance of survival in the brutal conditions. This illustrated presentation includes eyewitness accounts, never-before-seen photographs, and a story of tragedy and heroism that will leave you deeply moved.

Daniel Harrington is a director of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame and a popular monthly columnist for the Providence Journal. A former East Providence City Councilman and founder of Chartwell Wealth Management in Rumford, he now works as a Securities Principal for MassMutual. He lives in historic Pawtuxet Village along with his wife, Kristine, and two daughters.
